APPLICATION PROFILE
The ELS flat detector is designed for installation on the belt conveyors, vibratory conveyors, chutes and other horizontal transport systems. The machine detects ferrous and non-ferrous metals, in particular carbon steel, acid resistant steel, aluminium, copper and lead in low height products or bulk materials with layer height not exceeding 100mm.
The flat detector design provides simple integration with the existing production line and conveyor system without the necessity to cut a belt and change a transporter design.
The ELS detectors are mainly used in mining, ceramic, wood (production of chipboards), plastics and rubber industry.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Metal detection results in generation of the output signal that may be used to:
- Emergency stop the conveyor and switch on the light signal informing about metal presence in the raw material
- Start separation mechanism (e.g. pneumatic discharge flap at the conveyor discharge)
- Start electromagnetic separator
