INTENDED USE OF MAGNETIC PULLEY
Magnetic pulley (magnetic drum) type BM is designed for installation as part of a belt conveyor and a replacement of a standard drive pulley to purify a transported material from tramp ferrous metals. The magnetic pulley is used to protect of crushing machines and shredders from permanent damage caused by any undesirable pieces of hard metal and also to recover valuable ferrous scrap. Use of magnetic pulley is one of the most cost-effective methods of separation, which does not require manual cleaning and provides high efficiency with diversified feed and belt speed. Magnetic pulley complements operation of belt separator over the conveyor and guarantees capturing metals under the material stream.

TYPES OF MAGNETIC PULLEYS
FERRITE PULLEY TYPE BMF Equipped with permanent ferrite magnets intended for separation of mainly pieces of scrap: bolts, nuts, nails, broken off machine parts etc. BMF type pulley feature high range magnetic field and working temperature up to +150°C.
NEODYMIUM PULLEY TYPE BMN Equipped with high-power NdFeB magnets intended for separation of scrap pieces and also magnetic materials of very small weight and surface: bearing balls, fine wires, iron filings, rust and other particles with weak magnetic properties. BMN type pulley feature high magnetic flux density and working temperature up to +80°C.
ELECTROMAGNETIC PULLEY TYPE BME Equipped with high-power electromagnets with high range of magnetic field, intended for: high capacity conveyors, separation of large-size scrap and purification of large granulation materials. Electromagnets installed in the pulley are supplied with DC from a control cabinet and are adapted to continuous operation with 100% duty factor (DF) without forced cooling.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
When transported material contaminated with ferrous metals is carried over the pulley, it is subjected to magnetic field. Non-ferrous fractions pass the pulley unaffected, while ferrous contaminants are attracted to the concentrated and strong magnetic field generated by the pulley. The attracted ferrous metals are carried by the rotating pulley in the magnetic field and drop off by their own under the drum away from the magnetic field. The best separation efficiency is obtained by additional installation of the splitter for dividing the stream of purified material from attracted ferrous metals.
