PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
How can a magnet separate non-magnetic metals such as aluminium or copper? It is possible thanks to eddy currents generated inside metals by a magnetic rotor rotating with high speed. Eddy currents induce magnetic field inside non-ferrous metal pointed in the direction opposite to the magnetic field of the rotor. Non-ferrous metal is repulsed by the magnet and ejected outside material stream. Ferrous metals are attracted by the rotor and, torn out by the belt, they fall under the separator.
